My Sack Trick Bootleg List
PENGUINS IN FULHAM-King's Head Live, Fulham, England-20th September 2001-1 Cassette-7.5/10
This is a full concert from the Penguins On The Moon tour in 2001. The band are great as usual, and perform all the classics as well as ‘Nubile Blues,’ an improvised song about Chris Nubile’s necklace breaking sung by Robin Guy! The quality isn’t perfect (video rip; I have the video so I know) The show is excellent, the band being Chris Dale, Chris Nubile, Jem Davis, Robin Guy & Bobby The Bus Driver. Highly recommended!

6MUSIC CHRISTMAS PARTY-Maida Vale Studios, London, England-8th December 2002 (Broadcast 22nd December 2002)-1 Cassette-9/10
Sack Trick doing a radio session late 2002. Sound is a bit quiet (lots of hiss) but the show is great! There’s some brilliant interviews with Chris before the Sack Trick songs about all kinds of things! You also hear an interesting fact about the significance of Sack Trick’s PO Box number! Wring That Neck is an instrumental blues track with members of Sack Trick, Pig Iron (A band led by Bruce Dickinson cover artist Hugh Gilmour) and The P-Prune Band. Delilah is performed by the same people and has Bruce singing. Apparently Reuben Gotto was handed a guitar before this song and told to go on and didn’t know what to play! Space Trucking is a Deep Purple cover by Bruce & Pig Iron.

KISSMASS IN LEICESTER-Oxygen Club, Leicester, England-20th December 2002-1 CD-6.5/10
A brilliant concert marred by a poor quality recording. Sounds like it was recorded at high volume next to the amplifiers. The show is listenable but it’s not overtly pleasant to listen to. The show is great, with classics like No Tomatoes, Alcoholic Bulimia and the now famous Special Glue! Though the quality isn’t great, there aren’t many bootlegs of Sack Trick so this one is a must have! I enjoy it anyway!

SaSWuG-King's Head Live, Fulham, England, 22nd June 2003, 1 Cassette, 3.5/10
Possibly the worst quality bootleg I have heard (The only reason I gave it 3.5 is because I was there). It’s just two songs, one of which is barely listenable and one of which is cut. The sound is like a reversing tractor with a slow tape recorder. Even if you were there’s no real need for this unless you (like me) are a completist. If anyone has any recording of this gig, I’m not bothered about quality as you can probably tell from this review, but I really want to hear/see this gig again! Band were Chris Dale, Reuben Gotto, Ant Forbini, Ben Calvert & Jem Davis.

Skunkworks/Bruce Dickinson 2002 Bootlegs
PAPLONA 1996-Paplona, Spain, 31st June 1996, 1 CD, 9.5/10
Ripped from a video. Very good show, a lot of classic Bruce songs are played and there’s some brilliant improvisation by (the highly underrated) Alex Dickson before some songs. Bruce’s performance is great, as is the whole show and I strongly recommend this even if you don’t like the alternative style of the album.

First night of Bruce’s 2002 tour and the first gig with this line up (Chris Dale, Alex Dickson, Pete Freisen & Robin Guy) and the show is excellent! One of Bruce’s best performances ever! The set is great, including loads of great Bruce solo stuff and some of the best Maiden songs! Quality is very good too. If only this was released as an official album!
